Doom-pop outfit Death Rattle have released some stonking live performances of tracks from their debut EP, Fortress.
Brooding and looming over the listener with a snarl and a sneer, Fortress is the sound of your pent-up frustrations: restrained and calculated, yet full of deep malice and anger. Sounding like The Cardigans on an epic comedown after a heavy weekend with PJ Harvey and Placebo, Death Rattle bring a beautifully vindictive bite back to pop. The sound of Fortress is nothing short of enormous – piercing electro drums disappear into the wonderful blackhole as quickly as they appear – the result is a foreboding and intimidating composition that matches the swagger of Death Rattle perfectly.
